Swan e set Bay Resort and Country Club is a 65,000 square foot chateau style clubhouse nestled between the Fraser River and the Golden Ears Mountains in Pitt Meadows, BC, about 45 minutes east of downtown Vancouver. With its grand European inspired architecture, manicured golf course grounds, and panoramic Coastal Mountain views from every angle, Swan e set is one of the most dramatic and versatile wedding venues in the Greater Vancouver area. The resort hosts only one wedding at a time, giving you exclusive access to the entire property, from the outdoor ceremony lawn to the third floor Grand Ballroom, making it ideal for couples who want a grand, elegant celebration with a fairy tale setting.

What we love for photos

• The Grand Ballroom’s 60 foot ceilings and floor to ceiling windows. Crystal chandeliers hang from soaring ceilings while walls of glass frame the golf course and Coastal Mountains. As the light shifts throughout the evening, the ballroom transforms from bright and airy to warm and golden, giving us completely different looks for ceremony, dinner, and first dance photos.
• Four distinct ceremony locations. The Main Lawn seats up to 350 with the chateau as a backdrop, the Garden Birch Terrace offers mountain views down a grand aisle walk, the Sunset Patio on the third floor overlooks the course from a stone balcony, and the Grand Ballroom itself works beautifully for indoor ceremonies. Each one photographs completely differently.
• The Grand Staircase. The sweeping interior staircase leading up to the ballroom is one of our favourite spots for bridal portraits, first looks, and dramatic entrance shots. The architectural lines and warm lighting make it effortlessly elegant.
• Golden Ears Mountain views and nearby Pitt Lake. The golf course provides rolling green foregrounds with mountain backdrops, and Pitt Lake is just a short drive away for epic, wide open landscape portraits with water and mountain reflections that feel like you are in the middle of nowhere.
• Dedicated getting ready suites with great light. Both the bridal suite and the groomsmen’s room have large windows with natural light and enough space to photograph preparations comfortably, which saves time and produces much better getting ready photos than a cramped hotel room.

How we photograph this venue

We have photographed multiple weddings at Swan e set and know this property inside and out, from the best angles on the Grand Staircase to the exact time golden hour hits the Birch Terrace in summer. The Grand Ballroom is stunning but the mixed lighting from chandeliers, window light, and DJ setups can be tricky. Our advanced off camera lighting lets us shape dramatic, clean light for first dances, speeches, and reception portraits while preserving the warm, elegant atmosphere of the room. Our photojournalistic approach means we capture the emotion of your ceremony on the lawn, the laughter during cocktails on the Sunset Patio, and the energy of the dance floor without ever pulling you away from your guests. When it is time for couple portraits, we use the golf course, the staircase, the balconies, and often take a quick trip to Pitt Lake for something truly epic.
