The Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre is one of the most meaningful and architecturally stunning wedding venues in Whistler, designed as a contemporary interpretation of a traditional Squamish longhouse and Lil’wat Istken (earthen pit house). Built in 2008 where the territories of the Squamish and Lil’wat Nations overlap, the centre was created to celebrate the coming together of two distinct nations, making it a powerful and fitting setting for the coming together of two families on a wedding day. With floor to ceiling glass walls overlooking Lost Lake and the Garibaldi Mountain Range, hand carved cedar welcome figures, suspended canoes, and one of the largest collections of Squamish and Lil’wat art in existence, the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre offers a wedding experience unlike anything else in British Columbia.
We have photographed multiple weddings at the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre across all seasons, from snowy winter celebrations to summer mountain weddings, and we know this venue inside and out. The Great Hall’s natural light is gorgeous during the day, but once the sun sets the glass walls become reflective and the ambient lighting shifts dramatically. This is where our advanced off camera lighting transforms the space, shaping warm, dramatic light that works with the cedar tones, the art, and the mountain views instead of fighting them. Our photojournalistic approach captures your guests exploring the exhibits, the emotional ceremonies under the suspended canoes, first dances lit by the glow of the Great Hall, and those quiet stolen moments on the forest walk or the Mezzanine patio with Blackcomb behind you.

They have packages with two photographers and it allowed us to have our entire wedding shot from different angles. After receiving our wedding photos I found many pictures that I didn’t even know were taken. They are able to take flawless wedding photos without even being known they are there.
