We are so excited to feature Jenny and Josh's picture perfect Whistler wedding at Roundhouse Lodge and Squamish Lil'wat Cultural Center. Whistler is one of our most favourite places to ski every year, so when we met with Jenny and Josh and they mentioned 'Whistler wedding', we were really excited for this one! Jenny is an EMT, and Josh is RCMP in Vancouver, and they met on the job at a burning house. Josh couldn't get her off his mind (despite the burning house), and he asked her out on a coffee date for the next day. It was her day off, and she arrived on her date dressed to impress - in sweat pants and a sweater, and the rest is history! On the day of their wedding, they both got ready at the Chateau Fairmont Whistler in rooms with a view of the mountains. Josh was so excited to see Jenny and anxious to get married all morning long. Finally, the first look moment arrived and when he turned around and saw Jenny for the first time, and the tears started flowing for Josh. Jenny was gorgeous, and radiant with the hugest smile on her face! We headed off to Rainbow Park in Whistler to get photos of just the two of them with those epic mountain views in the background. Their outdoor ceremony was at the Roundhouse Lodge on the peak of Whistler, which had a beautiful mountain view. With the power of mother nature, it was beautiful and sunny one moment, then the next minute, mini snowstorm, then right back to bright and sunny (in the middle of summer!). The ceremony was decorated with beautiful flower arrangements by Celsia Floral, who created the spectacular floral awning, which was the focal point of the ceremony (other than the couple). They hired a live musician, Colin Bullock, to sing during the cocktail hour, while we took advantage of the epic mountain views by getting some more portraits of the couple and wedding party. The wedding reception at Squamish Cultural Center was in a round room with wood ceiling and beams, with wrap around windows. If you were to think of "the best Whistler wedding venue" this would be it! They had a cotton candy bar by Petit Puf, which was a hit with guests and the kids, and a photobooth by Photo Shack, which had people in huge lineups. Josh dressed up in the red serge for the first dance (which they took multiple dancing lessons for), and the dance lessons paid off! I've never seen a bride spun so quickly in my life! I think at one point, her head piece almost fell out! They had Soulstream Band play live music all night light which got everyone dancing hard. Thank you Jenny and Josh for having us be a part of your rustic and luxurious Whistler wedding. It will be one we will never forget! We want to hear about your wedding.
