J+R were married at Celebration Pavilion and reception at Westwood Plateau.
Proposal
We hear a lot of proposal stories, and this one struck me funny, but I love it. While Joy was doing laundry one day, Rob came up to her with this look on his face. Joy thought he was looking for a shirt, but then he went down on one knee, and then she thought maybe hurt his back. When he pulled out the ring, and started saying really amazing things about their relationship and her, she realized he was proposing, and she was quick to say “YES!”. I never knew doing laundry could turn into such a romantic moment until I heard their story!Celebration Pavilion
J+R’s ceremony was at Celebration Pavilion in Queen Elizabeth Park. Joy was so excited all morning for this moment when she could see Rob for the first time down the aisle. This ceremony venue is pretty unique, being it’s a round room, and the back of the venue opens up to a garden. It also is right in the middle of Queen Elizabeth Park, so after the ceremony, we just went right outside the venue for some family photos in the forest.Athlete’s Village Wedding Photos
J+R really love the city. We recommended Athlete’s Village for their wedding photos, because it has some interesting city views, as well as cool architecture to work with. We walked around the area to get some scenic shots with the iconic Science World, as well as a great city landscape behind them. There is a park nearby, which has a giant tube, which we put them in, and just used our lighting to give the photos a bit of interest.Westwood Plateau Wedding Reception
Westwood Plateau is a pretty popular wedding venue in Coquitlam, BC. We’ve photographed there quite a few times, and it’s a nice, spacious venue (with amazing food)! It’s awesome to see how different each person decorates it every time we go. This couple had 16 people in total at their head table, and a lot of guests, so they needed room! The wedding venue had a ton of space to accommodate their full house. Their whole night was pretty relaxed, and as the first dance started, they just played one of their favourite songs and danced together like they were in a party, which set the vibe for the rest of the night. Thank you so much J+R for having us as your wedding photographers. Meeting you two and getting the opportunity to spend the day photographing your story felt like we were just hanging out with good friends! — It was great working with these vendors: Ceremony Venue: Celebration Pavilion Reception Venue: Westwood Plateau Makeup/Hair stylist: Danielle Hill Makeup Artistry Florist: Flowers Beautiful Decor: Rose Chair Decor Cake: Sweet Sugar Momma DJ: First Class DJ Wedding Dress: The Bridal Gallery Groom’s Suit: Black & Lee Transportation: Ultimate Limos —J+R gave us an amazing review! “Will and Lauren were the photographers for our wedding and they were absolutely amazing! All of the photos were so incredibly gorgeous with each image telling its own story of the day!! The way they play with the lighting in a photo is masterful! They are truly an amazing talent and we are so thankful that we found them!!
From the first Skype call to the engagement photos to the day of the wedding, they were so accommodating and so easy to work with! Will and Lauren are true professionals and the level of care that they showed in capturing our day is beyond amazing. There were so many little moments and we were so glad that they were there to document all of them! With each picture, every emotion just leaps right out of the photo! We are not the most comfortable people in front of the camera but Will and Lauren are such an amazing couple and such wonderful people that they immediately put us at ease! It was like hanging out with old friends! Will and Lauren, thank you so much for photographing our wedding and providing us with memories that will last a lifetime!! We are so privileged to have had you capture our special day!!”
