Starr and Kevin's Vegas themed wedding at The Metro Banquet Hall is one we will not forget anytime soon. It was a really dark and rainy fall day, and Starr and Kevin were getting ready at the Inn at the Quay, located minutes from their wedding venue. While Starr was getting ready with all of her girls in the morning, Kevin and his groomsmen decided to try Kevin’s Grandpa’s moonshine/cider he made in 1980. All the guys slightly hesitated before taking a drink of the 35 year old cider, thinking this is probably a risky thing to do right before the wedding...but they all survived! Kevin met Starr for a first look in the lobby of the hotel, then we kept dry by taking photos in the hotel for their portrait session. There were a lot of things that influenced their unique wedding. Starr traveled a lot in her life moving from country to country up until she met Kevin, and she wanted to bring in a diversity of different things into her wedding that had influenced her life travels. For her outfit, she had a red shall that had a Japanese print to symbolize her life in Japan, and they also wanted Elvis and live performances throughout the night to symbolize Las Vegas, and also have a vintage theme to it as well. A lot of the women were wearing old flapper style dresses with headbands and feathers, and the men wore 3 piece suits and some had fedoras and top hats. Everyone fit the scene of the party. Starr always dreamt that she wanted to be married by Elvis in Vegas, so they hired Elvis to put on an awesome show for their guests during the ceremony, while Starr walked down the aisle with her brother. It was amazing! Young, Hip and Married was the wedding officiant, and was a perfect fit for their ceremony. After the wedding, Starr and Kevin were over the top excited that everything worked out better then they planned, and Elvis was a hit! Their Vegas inspired wedding had feather centrepieces with flowers, and all of the tables were named after Elvis songs. They also had performances during their reception with slam poetry, singers and a burlesque dancer. They kept the entertainment going all throughout the night, and when it came to the dance party, the floor was full. The Metro Banquet Hall is a very intimate space, and it has such an unique look to it, that it fit Starr and Kevin's wedding perfectly. Thank you Starr and Kevin for choosing us to photograph such a special day for you. It was such a memorable wedding to be a part of! - Lauren
