Vancouver Convention Centre wedding

This Vancouver Convention Centre & St. George’s Wedding is a mixture of elegance, epic scenery with a rockstar party vibe. Melissa and Taso are currently living in Saskatchewan, while Melissa works on her career as an M.D. They planned their wedding in Vancouver because a lot of of their family and friends live in BC. It takes a lot of work to plan for a wedding in another province, and I feel like we have a lot more client’s every year that end up doing this. Kudos to you guys, because I don’t know how do it, and make it look like this! They got ready in the morning at the Westin Bayshore in Coal Harbour. Melissa stunning makeup and hair was done by Let’s Face It Beauty. They had their intimate first look in the hotel. Taso looked absolutely blown away and was brought to tears the moment he turned around and saw Melissa for the first time. We took them to Coal Harbour Community Centre for a few portraits, then they hopped on a trolley from Vancouver Trolley Company to finish off the portrait session at Stanley Park. They had a traditional Greek ceremony at the St. George’s Greek Orthodox cathedral in Vancouver. It has to be one of the most grand and breathtaking churches we’ve photographed in the city. Plus it’s also one of the only churches we know that allows guests to throw rice at the couple. They had their reception at the luxurious and scenic Vancouver Convention Centre. They had one of the ballrooms that had a full set of windows facing the north shore mountains. Melissa designed her wedding herself by choosing the flowers, decor, the lights as the backdrop (my favourite) for the live band, and Filosophi Events (day of coordinator), did a beautiful job by bringing Melissa’s design to life on the day of. It was an awesome wedding from start to finish. They had a live band, Side One perform at their reception, which brought so much energy into the room and had everyone dancing non-stop throughout the night. One of the members was Erin from Filosophi, so she was on double duty that night. A great live band at weddings is the best idea ever! Melissa and Taso, you guys were so much fun to get to know and we we had a great time photographing you two! Thank you so much for choosing us. You throw one hell of a party! – Lauren
