Julia and Baki had a gorgeous wedding at The Vancouver Club. It was a perfect, sunny, warm day in March for a wedding. The day started off with Julia getting ready in their home in New Westminster to get hair and makeup done by Helen Chow. After makeup was complete, the girls headed downtown to the Vancouver Club to do the final touches and put on the wedding dress in Georgian room. Meanwhile, Baki was just around the corner from the wedding venue at Hotel Georgia with his groomsmen. There is a shift in the first look tradition where a lot of couple’s are opting to do a first look before the ceremony because it frees up the schedule so they can get photos done before the events start. It can be a sweet, little intimate moment between the couple. They had their first look on the rooftop balcony of the wedding venue, then we took them around to get Vancouver Club wedding photos around the venue. Their ceremony was in the University room in the building, which was fully decorated by event planners Smitten Events, Chic and Unique Event Design, Elizabeth Stanley Event Design and florist, Bridal Beginnings. It was a beautiful ceremony, full of tears and laughs. The reception was a lot of fun, full of speeches, cake cutting, first dance, shoe games and more. Julia wanted to bring in a little bit of her Chinese tradition by changing out of her wedding dress into the Chinese red dress right after the first dance. We ended the night with a night photo right in front of the building. Thank you Julia and Baki for choosing us to photograph such an important day in your lives, you both were so much fun to work with on your engagement session and wedding!
