Teahouse Stanley Park Wedding

We are really excited to show Sanam and Greg’s Teahouse Stanley Park Wedding. This love story started with Sanam sitting in the wrong seat on a red eye flight from Vancouver to Toronto, right next to Greg. At first, she wasn’t interested in talking to him, so she tried to put in her ear phones to ignore him, but it ended up that this guy was really interesting, and they talked the entire flight. Fast forward a couple years, they are living together in Ottawa, Greg proposes, they move to Vancouver, meanwhile planning their wedding during this time, sold their condo in Ottawa, and finally married each other! I’m exhausted just thinking about everything they had to do within a few months. They chose the Teahouse in Stanley Park for their wedding for the gorgeous views. Most of the guests were from out of town, so the location for the wedding was important for them. We instantly got along with Sanam and Greg when we first met them. They actually planned their entire wedding around our availability, which is one of the biggest compliments you can get as a photographer! We are so glad they did! We took them to the Vancouver Library for their first look, and then we headed out to Stanley Park to get some photos before the wedding. They had a multicultural wedding, with a Persian ceremony overlooking the mountains and ocean outside of the Teahouse. They had two rooms in the Teahouse for the dinner portion then the dancing. The wedding decor was a collaborated effort from Vintage Lace Weddings and A&B Partytime Rentals with setup and decor, and Sunflower Florist for providing all of the beautiful flowers, bouquets, and boutonnieres. The wedding was intimate and gorgeous. The reception was full of a lot of great speeches, a knife dance, tons of people on the dance floor and ending it with the bride and groom running into the ocean on Third Beach for some night photos…which I think is a first on a wedding day for us! It was so nice to be around family and guests that are so warm, friendly and inviting. It was a great experience. Sanam and Greg, thank you so much for choosing a date that we were available for, it was so amazing to get to know you both and we are so happy that you chose us to photograph such an important day! – Lauren
