We had the opportunity to meet Elaine and Peter last year when we photographed Elaine’s son’s wedding. When Elaine contacted us late last year to photograph her Fort Langley wedding in February of this year, we were excited to see the family again!
Second chance at love
When we heard Elaine and Peter’s story of how they met, it made this wedding so much more touching. Elaine and Peter were long time friends. Elaine was good friends with Peter’s late wife. Both of their spouses passed from cancer around the same time four years ago. They found comfort in each other and over time fell in love, and the rest is history.
Catholic wedding ceremony
They had a traditional Catholic wedding at St. Nicholas Church in Langley. It was one of the most rustic Catholic churches I’ve seen yet. It was a west coast church with a bit of a modern touch. It was important for them to have a traditional first look down the aisle, and Elaine was a show stopper as she walked down the aisle in her gorgeous, custom lace wedding dress.
Fort Langley Historical Museum wedding photos
Elaine wanted to go to Fort Langley Historical Museum for the portrait session, and it worked out perfectly. The wine barrels really suited the wine theme for their wedding, so we really utilized those areas. As everyone knows, Vancouver has had an extremely rainy winter season this year, so when we had the first day of sun in about a month, it really brought a beautiful glow to the scene! The reception was full of a lot of laughs and dancing all night long. It was a really beautiful day from start to finish. Thank you Elaine and Peter for choosing to document this important moment in your lives. We loved working with you!
