We are so excited to be posting Robbi + Kevin’s Rowena’s Inn wedding photos! We are always excited to photograph at a new venue for us, and we love the vibe of the Fraser Valley wedding venues. Rowena’s Inn on the River is located in Harrison Mills beside Sandpiper golf course. It overlooks the Fraser River with a mountain backdrop, along with massive trees. The estate has a very historic feel to it much like Hycroft in Vancouver.
Outdoor Summer Wedding
Rowena’s really spoke to Robbi and Kevin because they are pretty outdoorsy people, and the relaxed vibe of the venue I feel really complimented them. Robbi described wanting her wedding to feel like a slumber party, and having the full ceremony and reception outdoors with just little twinkle lights, and a homemade gelato station by Kevin, made the wedding have this pretty amazing feeling to it. The forest fire smoke rolled in around that time, so the view was a little hazy, but it made for some pretty cool looking photos and for lighting wise for us. It was like having a giant softbox, which gave us the perfect natural light!
Plane Wedding Photos
There is a landing strip at Rowena’s and one of Kevin’s friends has his own plane, and flew it into the wedding. Kevin is a pilot by hobby, and they really wanted photos in the plane. Will had a vision for one of the photos that required me (Lauren) to get up on his shoulders to get a bit of a higher angle. Will is 6’3 and I’m 5’9, so I don’t often jump on Will’s shoulders due to the sheer height of the both of us, but the shot turned out great!
