Rockwater is a very special place for Andrea and Tyler. They spend a lot of their summer weekends at Tyler's parents second home, located minutes from the resort. Within the first few months of seeing each other, they went to Rockwater Secret Cove Resort on a date, and Andrea thought it would make for the perfect wedding venue. When Tyler proposed on one of their walks at Smuggler's Cove, Andrea immediately thought the resort would be the perfect venue for them. The wedding took place during the time of the Sechelt forest fires, and the coast (and Vancouver) was full of smoke. But as luck would have it, the winds picked up and the rain came in (just a little bit), and the smoke disappeared just in time for the wedding day. Tyler started off the day playing backgammon with his groomsmen, while Andrea was busy with getting her makeup and hair done by Lux Beauty. They decided on an intimate first look at the dock outside of Andrea's cabin, and then they took off in a water taxi to take portrait photos on the resort. For the portrait session, we utilized every area of Rockwater, from the docks, to the rocks overlooking the ocean, finishing off at the tents on the side of the cliff. Their ceremony was on the dock, and the couple's request was seeing if one of us would get into a little rowboat to take photos of the wedding from the water. Will took on that role, and got into the little rowboat with Tyler's brother-in-law rowing, while I stayed inland to take photos from stable ground. It was quite the site to see Will bobbing around taking photos in a boat. It wasn't the calmest day on the ocean, so I was happy to hear that he didn't get sea sick looking through the view finder taking photos. Sailing is a big part of Tyler's life, so we got a quick photo of them after the ceremony in the rowboat. Tyler actually took Andrea out on their first date sailing in a dingy on the cold ocean in May. He ended up capsizing the boat (twice!), dumping them in the ocean, and then lost their sail, but somehow still got a second date from Andrea...and she ended up taking sailing lessons! They had a tent reception with nearly every decor item handmade by Andrea, with the woodwork help from her father and grandfather. It was gorgeous, intimate and rustic!  They had lawn games set up throughout the grounds, and the best part is they made smores instead cutting a cake! It was an awesome rustic wedding on the Sunshine Coast, and we are so happy that we were part of this Rockwater cove wedding. - Lauren
