Every time we worked with this couple it was raining really, really hard. Sometimes it scares people when it rains this hard, but not Deborah and Retell. They trusted us completely to come up with locations that would suit the weather and keep them dry. D+R's <a href="http://www.riversidehalls.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Riverside Banquet Hall</a> Wedding in Richmond was a perfect venue to fit all of their guests...and they had a lot. Deborah and Retell are huge dodgeball players, and I think half of their guests were from their league. On the day of their wedding, I finally got the opportunity to photograph the groom in a barber shop getting a clean shave! I was really excited about this, and it has been on my bucket list for years. I loved how the photos turned out! Retell and his groomsmen got a haircut and shave at the <a href="http://www.regalbarbers.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Regal Barbers</a> in downtown Vancouver, then went to the <a href="http://www.sheratonvancouver.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre</a> to get dressed. Meanwhile, the women were getting ready in D+R's new townhouse, getting their makeup and hair done by <a href="http://janetlimmakeup.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Janet Lim Makeup and Hair</a>. It was raining a lot that morning. The guys had to run from the hotel to across the street to <a href="http://standrewswesley.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">St. Andrew's Wesley Church</a> trying to not get drenched. For some reason they only had 2 umbrellas for 5 men... They had a beautiful ceremony at one of the most epic and best churches in downtown Vancouver. It was a good thing they got a large church because they had so many friends and family there to celebrate with them. When the ceremony started, Retell was already tearing up by the time the flower girls and ring bearers were walking down the aisle. After the ceremony, we used the gorgeous church to get some photos of just the two of them, then we headed out to Richmond Olympic Oval to get some photos using a lot of the covered areas (trying to keep them dry), and using the interesting architecture around the building. The reception at Riverside Banquet Halls, is a massive grand ballroom in Richmond. They had amazing food, one of their groomsmen dressed up as Pokemon for his speech, and then Retell and his dad played a song for Deborah. <a href="https://www.mixcloud.com/djrockscream/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">DJ Rocks'Cream</a> got the party started and had some really fun music and crazy lighting. The kids were going insane on the dance floor. The night ended off with Retell and his wedding party taking a small break from the party to smoke a cigar on the balcony. This couple has been dating for almost 16 years by the time they got married, and they planned the perfect wedding to celebrate their relationship!
