One thing to come from the global pandemic is that people are much more excited to get out of the cities and adventure into nature. We have always spent our time off exploring cool places which ultimately ends up turning into location scouting for photoshoots.
Introducing the SUV
We bought a Toyota Sequoia SUV originally to just put our boat in and out of the water. Once we discovered how awesome four-wheel drive is and how you can make it pretty much anywhere, we really started to get into the idea of exploring the logging and FSR roads around us and making it further and further away from civilization. That’s when we started playing with the idea of adventure photo sessions.

We posted some of our fun adventures and “daily walks” on our Instagram stories. We have a lot of really awesome local photographers that follow us on Instagram. One of the best local photographers, Jete from Urban Fig Photography, sent us a pm about a date night away from the kids and get a photoshoot at one of the locations we posted on our Instagram stories.
From water to sky
When planning the shoot they really wanted those “big epic landscape shots”. We decided on one of my favourite secret locations on the water, and then we caught sunset overlooking the lake, islands, and mountains way up high on a mountainside. We think this area is one of the best and easily accessible locations but it feels like you are so far away from it all.
