Quality Photography Experience That Is Different.

Tomorrow is Halloween, and what better way to celebrate this spooky holiday than with a gothic style wedding at Secret Garden in the Fraser Valley.

The Halloween proposal

B proposed to C on Halloween! It’s their favourite holiday. For a few weeks, they were planning to take a walk at Cliff Park on Halloween because the fog had been really pretty around there. But on Halloween, B couldn’t convince C to go, because she didn’t want to miss the Trick or Treaters. So when the kids stopped coming to the door, B lit all the candles in the house and proposed in their living room. Of course she said yes!

Gothic style wedding at Secret Garden

C and B got married in fall at the rustic Secret Garden, Woodbridge Ponds, which is a beautiful greenhouse in the middle of the country in Abbotsford, BC. Since their favourite holiday is Halloween, it was no surprise that their wedding has a bit of a gothic style, paired with a Halloween vibe, some rock and roll and death metal playing in the background, and a lot of elegance.

First Look in the Woods

They had their first look and wedding portraits of just the two of them before the ceremony. C had a black wedding dress which was so unique and different. They love heavily wooded forests, and we found one. It was starting to rain during the first look, but they both wanted to be outside and in nature for their first look, and it worked out beautifully. They even decided to opt out on umbrellas and just braved a bit of rain.

The ceremony

They had their ceremony in the greenhouse, and decorated it with black and red details with lanterns and red roses with a nice archway. During the ceremony, they did a hand fasting tradition where they bind their hands in union. It’s always interesting to see what type of traditions couples choose to make it unique to them. It was such a beautiful ceremony, where it seemed like every single person in that room was fully engaged and emotional watching these two getting married.

The reception

The reception was in the same room at the venue. The music was a lot of rock and roll and heavy metal which is pretty awesome and one that we haven’t seen before. If you met these two and their friends and family, it really suited the wedding. One of the most memorable parts of the day was the first dance, where they used a fog machine with strobe lights creating some awesome lighting.
