Quality Photography Experience That Is Different.

To celebrate the Day of the Dead, we did a photoshoot in Sayulita, Mexico on Halloween. It was our second time visiting the area and it’s one of our favourite places in the world.

The Day of the Dead is an important part of Mexican culture. It’s a celebration that honours the dead by remembering them and celebrating their lives.

It’s also a time for families to gather together, share memories, and prepare for the upcoming year. This is done by creating altars with offerings like sugar skulls, marigolds, and other items that were important to the person who died.

On November 1st, families will celebrate Dia de Los Muertos or “Day of the Dead” with food, music, and dancing. The festivities last until November 2nd when family members visit cemeteries to honour their loved ones who have passed away.

The Story About Our Day of the Dead Halloween Wedding Photo Shoot

A lot of couples are looking for creative wedding ideas that are different from traditional wedding photos. This blog post is about an amazing bride and groom who had a destination wedding in Sayulita, Mexico.

The bride and groom are dressed up in their wedding attire. They went for non-traditional wedding attire and they had a professional makeup artist put on sugar skull makeup on their faces to represent the Day of the Dead.

We had a photoshoot in a graveyard to capture the Day of the Dead ambiance for this wedding! It was probably the first and last time we will photograph a wedding in a graveyard. It was so much fun to see everyone excited about our bride and groom coming over to have pictures taken near their displays.

We then headed into town to take more pictures with their guests, stopping to take photos at different landmarks. There are people all over town celebrating the day of the dead, and we incorporated lots of people into the wedding photos.

Day of the Dead-A Celebration of Life and Death

The holiday focuses on gatherings of family and friends to pray for and remember those who have died. It is believed that the souls of the departed return to visit their loved ones on this day, so it is particularly important to make sure they are properly cared for and their graves well-tended.

This tradition dates back at least 1,000 years but has its roots in pre-Columbian indigenous cultures. The celebration includes building altars (ofrendas), honouring the deceased with food and drink (the favorite foods and beverages of the departed are often included), decorating graves with flowers, lighting candles or placing lanterns at night, playing music (often traditional folk songs called “canciones de cajón).
