Quality Photography Experience That Is Different.

We are excited to show these wedding photos at Canadian Memorial United Church and Riverway Clubhouse.

The Proposal

I’m a sucker for Disney movies, so if you are too, you will have to agree this was a pretty darn romantic proposal. Caroline wrote, “John took me to Disney World and surprised me with a proposal in front of the Beauty and the Beast castle, which I’ve wanted to go to since it opened. He faked taking a picture with me, and was actually setting up a camera to record the proposal. He told me to grab a different lens for him from his bag. The second I grabbed the lens pouch and opened it, a meaningful song began to play from inside the camera bag (bluetooth speaker). I immediately began to cry as the music played and I realized that inside the pouch, was a ring box. John walked over and said a lot of sweet things, followed by going on one knee. When he asked me to marry him, I exclaimed,”Yeah!” in a duh kind of way. 😉 He picked me up and twirled me in a circle, and we celebrated with a big high five! We then got to dine in the castle, and I got to dance with the Beast!”

Chinese Door Games

Caroline and John are a really fun and quirky couple, so when they mentioned they were integrating Chinese door games into the wedding day, I knew John would embrace it and give it his all. I have to say, in all the years of photographing these door games, John is the second guy who dressed in full Chinese attire for both the Chinese doors games and the tea ceremony before the reception. John and his groomsmen had to start off with wearing granny panties and bras, then moving on to pass a piece of seaweed by mouth to each other, singing and dancing to a pop song, then ending with serenading Caroline at her door.

Canadian Memorial United Church Wedding

After the door games, it was time for the wedding. Caroline got dressed in her wedding dress at the church. This decor on this Canadian Memorial United Church wedding was one to admire. The decorators Ruffled Rose Co. knocked it out of the park with beautiful trees lining the aisle and a spectacular archway at the front of the church. It looked like something out of a fairytale!

Britannia Shipyards Wedding Photos

Caroline saw photos from a previous wedding of ours at Brittania Shipyards, and she was obsessed with that idea. Located in Steveston, Richmond, Britannia Shipyards is a really cool location right on the Fraser River. It’s an older building, so the wood is weathered, bringing in a lot of texture, really great light spilling in from the windows, and these really cool rooms off the main room with old tools set up all around. We really like using this location as it offers a lot to work with in one location, we can get some pretty dramatic photos, the bonus is it’s covered in the event of rain and the wedding photos turn out amazing.

Riverway Clubhouse Wedding Reception

As one of the more rustic venues in the Lower Mainland, Riverway Clubhouse is becoming a really popular wedding venue. Caroline and John brought in more rustic elements to create a gorgeous, rustic wedding venue. These guys packed in a lot of entertainment into their day with lots of games, speeches, dances and more. It was an action packed day, Caroline and John you were beyond fun to work with, and we really appreciate you choosing us to photograph your wedding photos at Riverway Clubhouse! *Click on the photo for full screen gallery Caroline and John also wrote this amazing review: “My husband and I chose Will and Lauren to photograph both our engagement photo shoot and our wedding. The photos turned out absolutely stunning! It rained cats and dogs during our engagement shoot, but with Will’s skill and knowledge in the use of lighting and equipment, the photos turned out even better than what I had imagined for a sunny day! For our wedding, Will and Lauren captured so many great moments: both candid and dramatic shots. We viewed the photos with our wedding music while savouring some wine as per their suggestion, and I started crying tears of joy! The photos are that good!!! We feel very blessed to have had Will and Lauren as our photographers! Both of their professionalism and skill sets combined make them a super duo! Lauren’s candid and natural shots are awesome, and her ability to stay organized and on top of the administrative aspects of the business are exceptional. Her email responses were so quick! Will’s skilled manipulation of lighting, angles, and backdrops are unique, jaw dropping, and breathtakingly beautiful. Their chill and approachable attitude made us feel very comfortable, and because of this, they were able to bring out the best in the both of us to be captured in images that we’ll cherish for a lifetime! We totally felt at ease knowing that Will and Lauren were there to photograph our special day! So many of our guests were shocked by how unique and beautiful the photos turned out! If you are looking for a photographer, don’t hesitate to choose Will Pursell Photography!”
