We're glad Nigel was so persistent when asking out Emily until she finally said yes, or else we wouldn't have had the opportunity to photograph their beautiful Arbutus Club Wedding. Emily and Nigel had their wedding ceremony at St. Andrew's Wesley United Church in Downtown Vancouver, and reception at The Arbutus Club. The day started off with the girls getting ready at the Sutton Place in Downtown Vancouver, where Emily's beautiful makeup and hair was done by Danielle from All Dolled Up Studio. The guys were getting ready in one of the groomsmen's apartment in the renowned Woodward's building in Gastown. The couple's emotional first look was on the rooftop of the Woodward's building, with that epic panoramic view of downtown and beyond. We went all around the streets and alleys of Gastown for the portrait session and ended up at Stanley Park as the final spot. The Arbutus Club wedding reception was very intimate and airy with massive doors opening up to the large covered patio where cocktails were served. They had a beautiful martini ice sculpture with their initials engraved on it. But I noticed that instead of using glasses, a lot of guests were putting their faces under the sculpture taking shots instead. These guys definitely know how to party! Overall, the wedding had a great vibe, amazing venues and locations, beautiful decor by the amazing Sweet Beginnings, bouquet and centrepieces by Mayhew-Sherwood Florist and not to mention a gorgeous couple to photograph. We are so lucky to get the clients we have, and we are so happy that Emily and Nigel chose us to document their special day. - Lauren
