In celebration of British Columbia’s event restriction timeline looking positive, we are happy to finally share our last larger wedding before the global pandemic happened.
Winter wonderland in Whistler
Whistler is no dought an awesome place to get married in the winter. Snow in the village and breathtaking snowy mountains make it an ideal winter wonderland. The bride (Canadian) and the groom (American) wanted to show their families what the West Coast has to offer. They decided to have both their ceremony and reception at the Squamish lil’wat cultural centre. The day started with getting ready at the Four Seasons Whistler.
Snowy winter wedding photos
We originally had a helicopter ride planned to one of the peaks of the surrounding mountains. The pilot decided the winds were too high for take-off so we went for plan B. We have spent days scouting Whistler for good mountain views in the valley. They are hard to come by since there are lots of trees and buildings blocking them. We decided on a little park on the other side of the town. We were lucky to get some beautiful sun and clear skies. We even had some extra time and the Videographer Paul Cameron recommended a great little viewpoint on the side of one of the Creekside ski runs.
Rustic wedding reception
They had perfect timing on starting the reception as the snowy weather started rolling in for the evening. Their winter-themed wedding was decorated beautifully by The Reverie Co, Event Rental Works and Sunflower Florist. They even had a big awesome disco ball in the center of the room. This was one of the best parties of the year (possibly the last for our weddings I think?).
We can’t wait to get back at it!
If you like the photos we would love to hear from you about your wedding!
