Heather + Brandt | Barn wedding

Vancouver wedding photographers don’t always have it easy when having to deal with the rain in the Lower Mainland. The weekend of Heather and Brandt’s wedding was one of the most challenging lighting and weather conditions I have ever experienced. Heavy rain and grey skies did not let up all day. Luckily I had such an amazing couple to work with.

The day started out with the ceremony in a church “barn” located in private property on top of Sumas Mountain, Abbotsford, BC. It had nice high ceilings and chandeliers as well as huge swinging barn doors that over looked into the valley. It was a truly unique venue.

Once the ceremony was finished we escaped for a fun photo shoot in a private barn in Mission, bc. It was a real “barnyard animal” barn with live cows and straw. The old wood walls and straw made for some nice textures in the background. The overall feeling of the photoshoot was playful and fun. After some tough looking photos of the groomsmen in a old tool shed it was time for photos with just Heather and Brandt. We headed to a covered white chapel in a park. We actually ran into another wedding party, and apparently the brides knew each other. We had a short time for these photos but I don’t think these two can look bad in a photo!

Overall these are some of my favorite photos I have shot to date. I had a great feeling going into this shoot despite the weather, but I always enjoy a good challenge. In the end its not hard to take good looking photos when you have so many amazing people to work with!

    Hi There

I came across your website and really like your work. My fiance and I are getting married Sept. 24th, 2011 and we are looking for a photographer. I was just e-mailing you to find out how much your wedding packages cost and what they include if, in fact, you still have that date available?

If you can let me know, I would appreciate it a lot.

    Thanks so much
    -Sajeeda
