Couples session turned engagement!

As a wedding photographer I get the opportunity to see some of my clients most special moments of their life. I was asked by Todd and Carly to do a couples photo shoot. It started off as most days this April, rainy, cold and not too promising looking. I was hoping I could get a bit of sun for the day but it was not looking good. We arrived to our first location at Burnaby Lake, the clouds parted as we walked down the board walk. After I was set up, Carly asked me what pose I wanted them to do. Todd said “I know something good!” and went down on one knee. Carly was not impressed on his “cheesy pose” but once she looked down, she realized he actually had a beautiful ring in his hand! Todd proposed to her on the spot. She was totally caught off guard. I got it all on camera! After a lot of emotions these are the photos we got…

So after some super fun photos at Burnaby Lake and Simon Fraser University, this is what Carly had to say about our shoot!

“Will Pursell captured our engagement in a magical way whereby both our emotions and the beauty around us were captured simultaneously. This shoot was unique in that what was going to be ‘couples photos’ became engagement photos when I was proposed to on the spot. Will was able to setup and adjust his equipment quickly and you can be rest assured that if a perfect shot arises he can adapt quickly and nail it on the first try. As a professional, Will was easy to work with, fun to be around, and very open to incorporating what we wanted to see in our photos while adding his creative touches to make them truly unique. The final results of our engagement shoot were breath taking moments that tell a story”. – Carly
